This post is a total rip-off of a post by my friend Manu.
In my defense, I'll say that I always wanted to build a website to actually showcase my collection of retro consoles and games, but it was too daunting of a task so it never happened :P
Here's the direct link to the list of games if you aren't interested in all the story floof about my life and videogames.
I would say that was before I was 10 but I can't really recall nowadays. I am thinking hard about which platform must have been my first, but the choice lays between these two:
MS-DOS (on a 386 PC upgraded to a 486) or the MSX.
I will start with the MSX because it brings more magic memories :). Like other things in my childhood, I kinda inherited this from my sister. I just remember begging my dad to set the MSX up with a super small and square CRT TV we used to have. The days that I managed to get him to do it were special days :)
I played several games on that magical keyboard (which ran games via an external cassette reader connected to it!) but the one I remember the most is Jet Bomber by far.
I still remember typing RUN CAS
on the blue screen of the MSX and letting the thing read the cassette which would take minutes to load the game and be ready to play. It could be that this was the first game ever I beat!
Another very memorable game I played, and made in Spain, was La abadía del crimen. This game was super difficult, especially for mini-me, and I never really got very far. You play as a monk in a abbey where strange things happen and have to find out more as you sneak through the place and avoid the other eclesiastic figures. There was even a day/night system in this game!
As a fun fact, later on in life I have found this to be a cult game that still gathers some community in the interwebs.
As a sidenote, I just found out while making this blogpost that even a GBA version (!) was released and nowadays it can be played for free on Steam!
Other games from the MSX included:
Last, I wanted to mention a special "game" I remember very fondly: "Patágoras", which was an educational software designed for kids. The name was a joke with "patas" (legs) and "Pitágoras" because the main character was sort of a blob with long legs that taught science. If I remember correctly, there were several entries with different concepts each, but honestly the one I have clearer in my mind is the gas (fluids) edition which you can find referenced here.
Here, I will be very brief as I only remember having three games:
This one again, was half inherited, half usurped from my sister who was the original owner. I wish I would know how many hours (and batteries) I spent with this 8-bit beauty.
The games I remember the most are:
It's funny to think that when I got my PSX with Crash Bandicoot, I had to use paper and pen to write down humongous combinations of buttons that acted as save game codes.
Here, I don't think I can honor all the games I ever played. My sister at that time worked during summers in a place where you could rent movies and games so every weekend I would get a game rented for free. I was only allowed to play on the weekends though, so I couldn't reaaally go all in on that amazing opportunity :').
From here on, the amount of games for each console would make this post endless, and I am sure I would find plenty of stuff to mention about each, so instead I will post the list of games and maybe go into some specific games in later posts.
I will split the games by platform, in a sort of cronological way. I will also omit the platforms already mentioned in this blogpost as they have most games I played listed already in their respective sections.

Here, I can't really list all games because I moved too many times in my life and I lost most of the games that I owned before Steam and these platforms appeared.
So it's going to be a best effort for the unrecoverable past and the ones I can find in all the different store/launchers that are in place nowadays.
And some very unclear ones:
I will try to keep this list up to date with other new and old games I will play for sure in the future.
I must also fill the missing gaps, like the glorious PSP, or maybe all the games I played via emulation should make an appearance too!
